Mix-O-Mania

So these are all mixes I've made over the last year for various occasions and mix exchanges. Most of the tunes within I've sequenced or blended together, for better or for worse, and they've just been sitting around on my hard drive so I thought maybe I'd share them here.

I've attempted to provide the shortest blurb possible on each so if you're into it, there's helluva lot of great music (over 7 hours!) to be found here... Just click on the title of the mix under their covers to download! Get on it!!

A fine blend of psychedelic goodies ranging 1960-1975, from all around the world and back!
Artists include: Can, Os Brazoes, Nina Simone, Love, etc.

A party-made mix of some of my personal 80's favourites, unexpected surprises included… Dance like a damned fool!
Artists include: Talking Heads, De La Soul, XTC, Siouxsie & The Banshees, etc.

Put together for a Halloween mix exchange, spooky and terrifyingly awesome shit in under 40 minutes.
Artists include: Throbbing Gristle, David Lynch, Portishead, Evangelicals, etc.

With a title like that, I'm going to leave this rather beautifully epic and mind-bending mix right up to you… Contains no actual 'acid house'. Take the trip.
Artists include: Amon Tobin, The Avalanches, Boards Of Canada, Four Tet, etc.

An aural narrative adventure of sorts without the narrative. Begin 20,000 leagues under the sea and make your way onto a mysterious island complete with fucked up beach parties, haunted jungles and then back again…?
Artists include: Polmo Polpo, Tame Impala, The Beach Boys, Panda Bear, etc.

A sort of sci-fi Friday night mingled with ambient washes of nuclear death, dancing to hearty electronic sample jams and feeling techno city cab rides. The future is now!
Artists include: Mount Kimbie, Bullion, Oneohtrix Point Never, The Flaming Lips, etc.

Specially made for a few great friends of mine who were fortunate enough to take a roadtrip across the United States. This was inspired by my idealic views of the Southern states and the Mid-West.
Artists include: Joel Plaskett, DeVotchka, Calexico, John Prine, etc.

Ohioo0OOOO00ooo

It's been way too damn long. I think I'm going to try and be better about posting what little stuff I do with my life. Ha!

First up, that there is a video I did this past month in collaboration with Will Whitwham AKA Lake Forest for his just-released solo debut, Silver Skies. It uses footage he shot on his iPhone with a pretty impressive 8mm app plus a montage of real 8mm stuff I pulled from the rather large Stanley Zoobris collection on Archive.org.

More to come? We'll have to see. Stay fresh, internet.

NYC: Coney Island / Prospect Park

The lady was doing the intern thang this whole summer down in New York City and so the last time I went to visit her, I tried to take some more pictures (I hadn't really done so since March -- you can see those here). We did pretty well wandering through Manhattan and Brooklyn but we also made a little day trips to Coney Island and the Prospect Park areas where most of these were taken.

Hi

Things have been like this for...awhile. Well, about 4 or 5 months now. Which means, really, that this message will probably be read by like only a handful of people. Nonetheless, I felt the need to mention that things are coming soon.

That is all.
